A picture says it all, right Dad?

This picture was actually the brain child of parents' of the bride. The father of the bride pulled me into the lobby and asked if we can do this shot. I laughed so hard when he really had an empty wallet - then I reminded him our payment was due that night too! I guess that's why the look on his face looks so genuine!

High School Musical 3

OK, I know, not really photo related...but it is! I just got back from seeing HSM3 - I have to admit that it was actually really good! The dancing is always great and the songs get catchy! But I sat there watching and, of course, my mind wandered to business! how cool would it be to photograph most of those scenes? and more importantly, how cool would it be to recreate some of those dance poses for photo shoots? Very exciting! My next couple of weddings don't know it yet, but I have some ideas brewing for them! ;)

Danielle & Tim Engagement Session

We had so much fun with Danielle & Tim yesterday in Old Lyme, CT for their engagement shoot! We all were ready to freeze our butts off; but we were pleasantly surprised to find a very strong sun and an actual warm breeze! So warm that Danielle and Tim changed into some summer clothes and went into the water! Can't wait to see what surprises they have for us at the wedding - jumping into the Connecticut River? :)I love this shot (above)! Danielle looks like a cover model!

Lindsey & John

What a fun day with Lindsey, John and TABLE 12 (I promised a top billing to our table mates!)! Who could have asked for a better fall day? Beautiful leaves and 70 degree weather! Enjoy the teasers! The ceremony was right here in Coventry at the Second Congregational Church, the formals were literally "off the beaten path" in Bolton Notch, and the reception was at Zandri's Stillwood Inn.

Table Assignment Posters now available!

This trend has been trying to pull through for years - quite honestly, it's one of my favorites! In lieu of escort cards, many brides are opting for these great posters to display for your guests. I love it because you can be creative with backgrounds and layouts, and it saves you time (and paper - again, keeping the Earth green!) writing out little escort cards! It also saves waste because this is a wonderful keepsake as we will use one of your engagement or love story shots as a background (rather than the escort cards that end up in the garbage!). These are available for ordering with any package, price depends on the design. Contact me for details!

"Nothing Gold Can Stay"

When I was in 8th grade, I obsessed over the book & movie "The Outsiders" (yes, my age is showing!) and I memorized the poem that C. Thomas Howell (Ponyboy!) recited at dawn. I started to comprehend the meaning of the poem as an adult, but didn't appreciate it fully until I recently did a shoot with the golden light. This poem popped in my mind (yes, I still have it memorized! Isn't funny what gets retained in your memory?) and I am able to appreciate it more. It's also a nice reminder as to why we need to keep our Earth green and recycle! Thank you, Robert Frost!
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
