Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics

We were so pleased to volunteer our services to the Penguin Plunge this Saturday as the offical photographers! I completely enjoyed shooting from the shoreline while Patrick actually took the plunge!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day, the rest of the photos can be found at http://parsonsphoto.smugmug.com/gallery/7434626_F3iPX - however they are password protected but there is a hint.

Thank you to Marc & Jackie for being so wonderful in guiding us through the day and for posting our banner! Thank you to everyone who participated and donated!
Here's Patrick's plunge!

Wadsworth Mansion Bridal Show

What fun we had today at the Wadsworth Mansion Bridal show! I'm in the process of uploading the photo booth pics - boy are they funny! If you had a chance to hop into the photo booth, you can access the photos by clicking this link - be sure to have your photo handy because you will need it for the password!

It was great meeting everyone and we look forward to welcoming our new couples to the Parsons Photography family! :)

And just a reminder, the Bride Wars premier party photos are still online! It was great seeing some familiar faces at the show today! Here's the link to those photos.

Enjoy the photo booth pics! If you're interested in contacting us to discuss any of the photos or your wedding, click here.

Bekki & Dexter Engagement Session

Here is Bekki & Dexter's engagement session! We had a blast, albeit freezing! Rocky Neck was beautiful despite the cold!

These are some of my favorites - these doors and windows from the Pavillion reminded me of Greece! It was great!

Bekki & Dexter were great sports for these crazy shots! I'm glad they had as much fun as us!

Even when we say we're not taking your picture, doesn't mean we're not looking! This was one of the ring shots! Gotcha Bekki!! :)
Don't forget, leave your comments for photo of the year 2009!

What a day!

Today we had a double header!

First thing in the morning, Patrick & I were the official Photographers for the Special Olympics Penguin Plunge! Not only were we the photographers, but Patrick plunged! We had a lot of fun and got some great photos! I'm downloading them now and will have the link posted by Monday!

Then, because we didn't have enough of the cold air, we hit Rocky Neck with Bekki & Dexter for their engagement shoot! I had planned on 1 to 1 1/2 hours for the shoot - ok, so over two hours later, frozen fingers, and numb noses!! I'll have teasers up tonight from their shoot (downloading those too!)!

I'm enjoying a drink while everything downloads...time to pack up the car for the Wadsworth Mansion bridal show tomorrow! Hope to see you there!

"The Best Valentine's Present"

This year, Dave had to work in the morning and I had to work in the evening for Valentine's Day but the girls wanted something special. So I took them to their favorite place on Earth (ok, next to Disney, this is the fav) - the Wadsworth Athaneum. We spent 2 hours walking around, looking at painting (the kids love finding their favorite paintings and now they try to act out what they see! It's great watching them try to act out a Pollock or Picasso!) and then lunch at the cafe.

Alexandra told me this was "the best Valentine's present ever" to spend the day with the girls and then a special dinner with Daddy. Hearing that was the best present for me!

Here's a shot we did in the mirror!

Photo Booths

It's not often that I advertise a "competitor" - but I have to give props to Bert Fonseca & Vinnie Nadeau from After Hours DJ for their photo booth! I stopped by Water's Edge Resort last night and I couldn't have paid for better entertainment! It was a riot watching people's reactions in the booth - and out of the booth when they saw their photo!

While I was there, I took some promo shots for Bert (I had to justify the mileage somehow!). Here's one of my favorites!

If you're looking for a photo booth - you have to call Bert & Vinnie...well, after you call us! LOL! :) Just be sure to tell them I sent you!

Star of the Week

Alexandra's preschool has a Star of the Week every week and that child has a bulliten board with their likes and photos. Alexandra will be Star of the Week 2/23 (next week is vacation); being the daughter of a photographer, she decided she could not bring in old photos. So we had to have a photo shoot. Well, the time coincided with having Puppy Pal at our house as well - he's the school's pet that each child has a chance to bring home and take care of. Puppy Pal was a diva and had to be in the photos as well...he even asked me to do his hair...that's where I drew the line.

Another reason to love Home Depot

I think I love Home Depot! I actually was browsing around there on Thursday...and this morning, Dave & I took the kids to one of their children's seminar. It was really cool! They have these free seminars for children where they get to make their own item - this month is was a trinket box (there was a boy scout troop that was building bird houses - how cool!). My girls had a blast! Alexandra wants to paint hers tomorrow and Evanthea (yes, she's hugging her box) want to make it "shiny"!

Mother/daughter shoot

Today Evanthea & I hit the studio together - here's the result...can you guess who took the photos? I can't make this stuff up as you can see the remote in her hand for some of the pics!

This was the only one I took - here's her grumpy face!
The next ones are E's! I actually like this one for my head shot!
