The knot Best of Weddings 2009

THANK YOU to all the brides who voted for me in the knot's Best of Weddings 2009! This is the second year in a row that I have received this award!

It was a wonderful surprise: I came home Friday night at 1 AM, tired but preparing for Saturday's wedding. While I was backing up the photos, I came into the kitchen and started flipping through the mail and saw a big brown envelope - I opened it to read the congratulations! It brought a smile to my tired face! Now that I've had the moment to let it sink in...I'M THRILLED!

So, thank you everyone who voted to allow me to have the distinction of being BEST OF WEDDINGS 2008 & 2009! :)

Amy & Jonathan's Engagement Session

What a way to end a GORGEOUS spring weekend than with a gorgeous couple at a gorgeous location! The 80 degree temp today didn't bother Amy & Jonathan at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT.

How cool is this checkerboard dance floor? It was left over from last night's wedding - so we took full advantage of it!

I was so thrilled to see that Jonathan FINALLY got that bended knee proposal he has been waiting for! And a ring to rival all his friends'! LOL! Thanks for the laughs!!
Amy has these gorgeous blue eyes that photograph so beautifully - wow! They say every photo has a story behind it...I'm not telling this next one! LOL!
I love this shot! Amy & I were being silly with one tiny flower in the mansion's front yard and I saw a foot in the corner of my shot - I looked up and this was what I saw - clouds and all! :)

Definitely my fav pic of these guys! Their personalities all the way!! Too cute!!

Congratulations, Amy & Jonathan!

Now off to bed for me...please wake me on Tuesday! :)

Teresa & Tony's Wedding

Yesterday, we were in West Haven at Fantasia to celebrate Teresa & Tony's wedding! This was an amazing couple that I met for the first time last week (well, I actually just met Tony yesterday!)! Teresa & Tony live in Florida and came back to CT to celebrate their wedding with their family and friends!

I love their personalities! We had so much fun posing them, but they were so natural and relaxed, everything fell into place!
Despite the next two photos, Teresa's father was such a good natured father! He was a good sport for the photos!
There's something I love about grooms and cigars - they always make great photos!!

Congratulations, Tony & Teresa! We wish you all the best!

Don't forget to leave comments for Tony & Teresa and vote for photo of the year!

Kate & Ben's Wedding Day

Wow...I'm not sure which is worse - me looking at Kate & Ben's photos at 1 AM or realizing how stuffed I am from the yummy dinner at the Delaney House in Holyoke!
Definitely my favorite prop by far was the personalized tape measure! The absolute coolest prop I've had fun shooting!!
What I really liked about Kate is she has so many sides - she can be silly, intense, playful, serious all at the drop of a hat! It really made my job much more exciting (ok, easy!)!!

If you know Kate & Ben, be sure to ask them about Ben's ring and the story behind it! It was quite a story! :)

Here's my girl, Beth! I WISH I had this woman's energy! I have never seen anyone dance so much for so long and let's not forget that she's a great dancer! I was calling her a pop corn popper because she was hopping around the dancefloor! But I definitely have to give props to Sara and her crew at the Delaney House - they were amazing! They took care of every single person in the facility (ok, I'm biased because I got a carafe of water!!) and the food was amazing!!

Congratulations Kate & Ben! Best wishes!

Don't forget to leave your comments on the photos - one can be chosen for Photo of the Year!

Happy Earth Day Today!

I went out in the yard to take some Earth Day photos (I really wanted to hit the park, but Alexandra has pink eye in both eyes today! Yuck!). My two assistants came to help (by help, I mean swing on their swing set).

This right here is truly our recycling bin! We are big fans of recycling!

While I was wondering around, Alexandra recited this poem, causing me to stop in my tracks. I asked her if she learned it in school, she said no she just made it up! What a beautiful way to honor Earth Day from a 4 year old perspective!

God is the sunset
God is the moon,
God is the stars
God is the ocean
God is the lagoon.
God is Mars,
God is the Earth.
God is the oceans, rivers and dust
God is all the pretty things
around us
This next photo is our unique lilac bush. Oddly enough, we planted it when I was pregnant with Evanthea four years ago - and it has shown to be just as stubborn as she is! We have not seen one flower yet!
I was playing games with this cardinal for quite some time. He wanted the food from the feeder and I wanted a photo. We settled for a compromise on the playscape!
We live on a pretty busy road - it's not typical to see no cars. But I thought it was cool that our neighbor's recycling bin was standing out like a sore thumb!Happy Earth Day!
