Katie & Berk {Trash the Dress}

Katie & Berk were married on Friday - then the festivities continued today! We photographed a "Trash the Dress" session - why in quotes? Well, her dress really didn't get trashed! We just had fun!

Our first stop was Wild Bill's in Middletown. Great backdrops everywhere!

Here we have Wild Bill, the store; Wild Bill, the Bobblehead; and Wild Bill, the man! :) Thanks for letting us run around today!

This next one is one of my favs! Our next stop was a walk through Wesleyan University.
And Berk told me he loves optical illusions! Had to have some fun with this!!
Then our next step is the old railroad tracks in Middltown. This next one is a fav...on the silly side!
Love this next one!

Congratulations, once again, Katie & Berk!

Trash the Dress - Coventry Farmers' Market Blog Post Part 3

Yes, you read that correct! We trashed the dresses! All of our brides were wearing recycled gowns and we used all local products to trash the dresses.

We ended up in the really cool field next to Nathan Hale Homestead. While we were waiting for everyone to join us - Katie took Alexandra on a frolic! she said she has always wanted to frolic in a field...here you go!
This amazing cake was designed by Vicky Kenyan of ToriaDolce Wedding Cakes in Rhode Island. She said she needed "something" on top...what better something than some local strawberries we bought from Highland Thistle Farm. How fantastic does this look with the honeysuckle? Love it!

The brides needed some help posing...so who better to do so than the 4 year old daughter of the photographer?! ;)
"No girls! Don't carry that cake over here!!"
"OH NO!!"

Cake salvaged! ;)Katie tossed her "bouquet" of rhubarb!

And then Amanda tossed the pie right back at her!In honor of what started the day (Sex in The City)...Alexandra was more than happy to get in on the trashing!

Amanda basking in the scent...

I have to say that this is oddly enough one of my favorite shots!
After the carnage! ;)Thank you everyone for an AWESOME day and an awesome shoot!!
