recycling electronics
Today Dave & I trekked down to Cromwell to recycle some of our old printers, batteries, an ancient laptop, and our very old TV. I found a place online called The Computer Recycler - very cool place! They recycle all your old electronics for free! And the really cool thing is they recycle the ink cartridges that Staples doesn't take - so I'll be saving mine in a bag now! I highly recommend these guys, you have to read up on their website about the company and where they're registered. Just another effort in keeping our Earth green! :)

Bride Wars!

Bride Wars is coming out - how funny does that movie look?
Not only are we going to see it, but we were asked by the Wadsworth Mansion to be the official photographer of their screening/cocktail party!
If you're a Wadsworth Bride, break out your cake knife and we'll see you at cocktail hour! Photos will be posted after the event.

Magic Tree House
Imagine picking up a book, seeing an intriguing photo in the book, wishing you could go there...then with a whirl you're there. Every night that happens in our house - tonight we went to Hawaii and witnessed a tsunami.
My kids are really into the book series, The Magic Tree House by Mary Pope Osborn - and I have to admit that I'm into them as well! Evanthea (at age 3) usually falls asleep before chapter 2 but Alexandra (age 4 "and a half" -- as I am reminded) gives me her rapt attention until the last page. They're great stories about two kids who found a magic tree house in the woods and they find books that take them to magical places just by wishing on the photo. Could you imagine doing that? Pointing to a photo and wishing you were there...
I guess as a photographer, that's what we aim to to: bring viewers into our photos. I hope many of you wish on our photos, or at least have them take you somewhere magical! :)

Photo of the Year 2008
Photo of the Year 2008. This year was tough because we had some really creative out of the box shots. Photo of the year is based on our favorites and the amount of feedback we have received (bridal shows, meetings, blog comments, etc) from you! This is the shot of the year - actually from one of my favorite weddings! I enjoyed working with Mike & Kristin not only because they were tons of fun, but because Mike was all for photos every five minutes - we had fun trying out new techniques and poses!

Congratulations Mike & Kristin - for having the Parsons Photography Photo of the Year 2008, they receive this photo printed on canvas and mounted on a gallery wrap frame.
Want to know how one of your wedding photos can be chosen as photo of the year for 2009? Make sure comments are posted for your wedding about particular shots - maybe you will see your own photo up here next year!
Happy New Year, everyone!
