Self-portrait

Not since college have I thought about taking a self-portrait (remember those? Where you hold your little camera at arm's length and hope you at least got your face in the shot!). I was inspired by a photo project I was researching. As I am quite critical of myself, I decided to focus on my camera and came up with this photo. What do you think?

Article in Connecticut Bride

I had a reporter contact me a few months ago and ask me what the new trends in personalizing weddings. After supplying her with a bunch of ideas, the thought slipped my mind until a client of mine (thanks, Marianne!) said she read about me in The Connecticut Magazine. Well, come to find out she was talking about another magazine and another article (...from last year!); but that prompted my husband to scour the bookstore to come up with the latest issue of The Connecticut Bride (thanks Dave!!).
If you're interested in reading other articles I have contributed to and have been featured in, check out my "Media" page.

Slideshows available

Slideshows are now available for download onto YouTube, iPods, iPhone, etc. You can order a slideshow from any of your sessions and share it with your family! I am starting to post my recent engagement session slideshows here -- if you are interested in ordering a slideshow, please shoot me out an email and the format or device you prefer (and no, the one you order will not have "Parsons Photography" written all over it!).

Right now, pricing is $50 with any session purchase (excluding "by the print") or $150 by itself. Slideshow is a minimum of 10 slides (our choice) with full digital editing and set to music. (Prices are subject to change)

It's a great way to fill some time at the rehearsal dinner or during cocktail hour!

Let me know if you are interested or have any questions!

Wadsworth Bridal Show Part II

At the Wadsworth Mansion Bridal Show (see previous post), I will be selling some of my jewelry (for those of you who don't know, I make handmade beaded jewelry). Some of the new pieces I am working on are more on the "glam" side -- lots of colored pearls, sparkle (cubic zirconia & Swarovski), and metal (24k & 14k gold and sterling silver). Also with my 2 little inspirations running around begging for beautiful pearl necklaces, I have more little girls' necklaces as well! I'm hoping to get some new pics posted, but here's the link to last season's!

Bridal Show - February 24

Come see me at the Wadsworth Mansion Bridal Show on February 24 (Sunday)! I have been doing this bridal show every year for the past 4 years and it is definitely my favorite. The quality vendors that come (yes, I'm easily swayed by good food and cake!) is amazing! I'll be there representing my other business, Nifi's Wedding Planning and ready to answer any questions relating to any business!

Contact Jen at the mansion for further information and be sure to tell he I sent you!

Marianne & Daniel Engagement Session

Marianne, Daniel and I went to our State Capitol Building in Hartford, CT. I am always awestruck every time I walk into that building -- the architecture is phenomenal, the colors are amazing, and the people who work there are so wonderful and accommodating! Marianne and Daniel had a woman ask if they wanted her to sing for them!

We had a lot of fun and Daniel endured some of my goofy shots like the empty pockets second from the right!

My favorite is the first shot in the upper left hand corner. I'm not sure why I like it...I think it's because it looks like they're having a beautiful private moment in a beautiful public place. I like the panoramic feel to it with the columns too!

Amy & Eric Engagement Session

Patrick and I had a blast with Amy & Eric as we did their engagement session! Amy brought us to a private owned farm house in Bolton, CT. We learned that Amy used to work there taking care of the horses! The grounds had so much potential for photographs; we just really felt bad because it was so cold out!

My personal favorite shot is on the lower right hand corner, the silhouette with the sun peaking through -- almost looks as though their kiss is sparking the sun! I love it!

Holiday Card

I know it's after the holidays, but the story behind this card is sort of cute! My two models (my daughters, Alexandra and Evanthea) were none too pleased to be models after a full day playing at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown! I tried to tell them that Santa will be coming down the chimney -- that didn't get a rise out of them because we don't have a chimney at home! So I told them to try to look for the Grinch (a favorite Christmas book!) -- and then we arrived with the picture above! They say every picture has a story!

Welcome to my blog!

One of my new year's resolution is to get a full blog to keep everyone up to date with what's happening! I'm not too late, it's only the 6th!

Anyway, within this blog, we'll be posting teasers of engagement sessions, wedding, and other events we shoot. We also are in the process of working with Nifi's Wedding Planning to put out a quarterly e-zine that we are VERY excited to get out! The e-zine will have wedding tips, trends, and savings -- we're hoping to have the premier issue out by the end of the week! If you are interested in subscribing, shoot us out an email here and we'll be sure to put you on our list!
