Boudoir Fashion Show

Last night we co-hosted a Boudoir Fashion Show with Salon Alexander and Beauty Entourage (located in Newington). This idea was the brain child of the salon's owner, Ashley Stone. Ashley and I worked together to come up with this really fun and innovative way to show women what a boudoir session is and how with the fun clothes, cute hair and makeup, and some sexy poses - anyone can do a boudoir session!

Here, Ashley and I are welcoming everyone and explaining about sessions and what to expect. Thank you everyone for coming out and supporting us! Jess & I booked 8 new sessions on the spot!! We are so excited about the upcoming shoots! (It's not too late to make your reservations for Valentine's Day!!)

One of my favorite shots from the day!

I love the roll playing costumes! So much fun! great idea if you man's a cop!!

Congratulations to Theresa! She was the winner of the free session and free hair and makeup for the session!!

we had a bunch of games for the ladies to participate in. The first one was a scavenger hunt - we had everyone search the salon for the answers...I loved watching the stealthy tiptoeing around!

The next game was a blindfold runway game! I'm not going to give too much away, because I think this one is going to be a tradition!

Back to the show! LOL!

Here's another one of my favs!

Here's an homage to our flier photo - the candy lips! I loved the whole ensemble with the hair clip and the knee highs! Too flipping cute!!
Rocking the baseball jersey!
Thanks Ashley!!
Thank you to Salon Alexander, Beauty Entourage for co-hosting with us! and thank you for the amazing job on hair and makeup!! We are looking forward to working more sessions and weddings with you ladies!!

And thank you to all of the ladies who came out to support us!! we will be planning more fashion shows and we're getting ready to unveil a new surprise! Want to book your own fashion shoot? Let us know!

Jack & Shelley's 40th Anniversary

Last night, I had the honor of documenting the amazing celebration of Jack & Shelley's 40th wedding anniversary! It was such a wonderful evening on many levels! You see, I had just seen about half of this group about 3 weeks ago...can you guess where?
This is Jack & Shelley's original wedding invitation! How sweet!

Jack and Shelley with their grandbabies! Love it!!
The Wethersfield Country Club did a fantastic job!
Lori, Jack and Shelley's daughter, said some warm opening words welcoming everyone.
Then Jack's brother, Bob, (who was also the best man at their wedding!) had some words of advice...that sounded really familiar! ;)

Here's the biggest hint as to why I knew half the family...Kate and Dane's wedding! You see, Jack and Shelley are Kate's aunt and uncle! But we also found out that our connections don't stop there! Lori & I also grew up together at our beach houses in Old Lyme - talk about small world!!

It was awesome to see so much love surrounding Jack & Shelley!

Congratulations Jack & Shelley! It was wonderful to spend the evening with your loving family! We wish you many more years of love and happiness!

Whirlwind weekend = whirlwind posts

What a fantastic weekend - it was crazy, but good crazy!!

Jessica & I started the day off at the Wadsworth Mansion, setting up for the bridal show. As we bring our photo booth to the Wadsworth shows, it was great to have an extra day to set up. This is our favorite shot from our testings of the photo booth!

Next stop was WedWork - a really fun networking event of local wedding vendors sponsored by ESTOccasions and the UCONN Alumni Center. Jessica, Dave F & I had a lot of fun indulging on some yummy food and meeting some new vendors. And we were thrilled to be the official photographers of the event...we did get a little sidetracked by the ADORABLE shoes everyone was sporting...so we did a series of cute shoes! Can you match the vendor with the shoes??

Next post coming is Saturday's event, the Penguin Plunge!

Alexa's Bridal Shower

Thursday, Alexa & Pete had their engagement session...Alexa stopped by my house to use the bathroom...my work calendar is next to the bathroom. I cringed a little when she paused in front of it - thinking she saw "Alexa's shower"...it was a surprise! Luckily there was so much other stuff on there to distract her, she didn't see it! :)

By far, this was my favortie gift! At first look, I loved the colors and the wrapping; I loved it even more when Alexa opened it. Every gift is attached to a recipe and that gift somehow corresponds to the recipe - for example, a bag of chocolate chips had a chocolate chip cookie recipe attached to it. And some of the items were wrapped in brightly colored linens. LOVE IT!My little friend, Caitlin the flower girl! She was singing and dancing for me! Can't wait to see her at the wedding!
Caitlin was just too cute...she kept "helping" Alexa with her gifts. The balloons were regifted a few times, and so was the decorations. She must have given Alexa a palm tree at least 10 times...3 of which she wrapped it in a gift bag, twice it was wrapped in a pink tissue. All the while, she was so serious doing it!
Do you know the tradition with breaking ribbons at the shower? For ever ribbon the bride breaks, it's a child. Alexa broke 5 (two of which were on the same gift, so we're guessing twins). Alexa really wanted to break 50...those of you who know Alexa are laughing before you finish reading. THose of you who don't...trust me, it's pretty tongue in cheek! :)

Here's that cute monkey of the palm tree, he's a ring holder too - Caitlin's thinking practical gifts! Alexa's sister, Monica was in charge of the games - what fun!
I think this was her hair trial?
It says it all! :)
Before and after...and rabbit ears! :)

Congrats Alexa! We'll be seeing you soon! :)
