Jenn & Mike Engagement Session
Despite the dreary day with the rain, Jenn & Mike made a great call by having their engagement session at the studio. We had lots of fun using our imaginations and heading out to Italy for a romantic evening...12:00 EDT! :)
I love these next two pics - the first one, Jenn looks so angelic! And the next one, I love Mike's expression...almost the "heh, that's my girl!". Too cute!
I even transport the restaurants from Italy!
We had a blast! Can't wait until your May wedding, Jenn & Mike! See you then!

"One" by Kathryn Otoshi
About a month ago, one of my kids picked out a book called "One" by Kathryn Otoshi. I flipped through the beginning of the book and thought it was a book celebrating the differences of people. We brought it home and read it - I was in awe.
It's a beautifully simple book about the color blue and how he's happy being blue until red comes along and tells hims "red is hot, blue is not" and blue feels bad. the other colors whisper to him that everything's ok, but no one stands up to red. Then the number 1 comes along and stands up to red and says "NO". Then the other colors stand up to red and blue befriends him - they all turn into numbers. the message of the book is "it just takes one".
I had chills when I read it because I remember being blue (and I also remember sometimes being red)...and now one of my daughters is having some trouble adjusting to other personalities in school. Thank you & kudos Kathryn Otoshi - you gave me a great tool to help my kids to gain the courage to stand up for their beliefs and what they want.
I recomend this book not just to people with children, but to everyone. Because sometimes we all have a little red in us and we need to keep in mind that there is going to be someone that is a little blue.

Hop A Thon For MDA
I am so proud of my 4 year old daughter, Alexandra! She has raised almost $400 in the Hop A Thon to benefit MDA! Her preschool has a Hop A Thon every year where the 4 year olds hop to raise money - their 6th grade buddies count their hops. Alexandra's 6th grade buddy is so sweet and Alexandra calls her "my best friend"! They both did a wonderful job!
Alexandra had the highest number of hops in the AM class with 253 - she beat her own record in the afternoon with 276 but she wasn't the highest in that class! What a way to start community service at an early age! Dave and I are incredibly proud of her!
If the class raises $1000, the children with the highest pledges will present a check at the MDA Telethon.

Wii
OK, so if you haven't seen me obsessing on Facebook, you probably don't know that we finally got a Wii! I love Wii Fit (lost 2 lbs already -- I'm only on day 4 right now)!! And so do my kids. Here is Evanthea trying out the balance games for skiing! This last one, she's trying to immitate her Mii. When you don't win or rank on Wii, your Mii slumps over. Here she is!

Last night, Patrick & I had a great honor to meet Jody & Zack Gray of Gray Photography - a husband and wife photog duo from Nashville. They are young, hip, and have killer marketing instincts! Be on the look out for our new website because I was so inspired by their talk! But in the meantime, check out their website...you will fall in love with them when you poke through! :)
