What better way to spend a morning than surrounded by cows, goats, sheep, dogs, kids, fresh local berries, fresh local veggies, local FRIENDS!!! I spent Sunday morning at the Coventry Farmers' Market giving back to the community that I have spent 35 of my 37 years living in (ironically enough, Sunday was my 37th birthday!). I volunteered as the market photographer for opening day at the Coventry Farmers' Market.
I tend to joke about Coventry - I usually say "you know the phrase 'East of nowhere'? Well, Coventry is the nowhere". It's still true to some extent (we are, however, moving up in the world with a CVS, Dunkin Donuts and soon opening a Walgreens!), but not with the Farmers' Market!
This market has grown in the past few year to this wonderfully huge gathering! I had so much fun photographing the opening day this year - not just because it's a great market (it is!) but because I had a chance to reconnect with so many long lost friends! I met up with women that I was friends with in preschool and grammar school, I met up with old college friends, I even met up with recent couples (Kim & Bryan, just married in May, were wandering around!)! My kids came to enjoy the lemonade, Italian Ice, and the animals!
What a great day! Proofs are posted here (click for link) - portions of the proceeds will be donated to the market if you're interested in purchasing photos!
I'll be back in two weeks (next week we're shooting an engagement session at a castle so I'll miss it!)! Look for me and SMILE! :)
