This morning I watched a leaf fall,
And with it went my morning thoughts:
Stress over meetings,
errands
juggling schedules,
picking up the kids from school,
working on the computer.
I stopped and watch the leaf fall,
so carefree,
slowly,
slowly,
it soared to the ground.
A brown oak leaf,
partially crushed by a bird rushing by
on his way to an errand.
Or maybe partially eaten by a hungry caterpillar
before snuggling in his home.
I looked out my window this morning
and watched a leaf fall.
For a brief moment, I felt calm.
Nothing mattered but watching that
beautifully perfect leaf lazily zigzag to
meet the other leaves who
fell to the ground.
This morning I watched a leaf fall,
now I'm ready to start my day.
