Field Day

Every year, our beach community ends the summer with "Field Day" - it's an old family fun tradition (yes, I participated every year as a child!). This was the first year our girls participated in the races. I knew we were in for it when Evanthea told me "you race to win"...

Their first event was a group event, the water relay. Their team came in first! The first blue ribbons!
Evanthea is hopping in the sack race below - she is the youngest competitor...look at the determination in her eyes!
Evanthea's favorite sport - basketball! She won the blue ribbon for basketball (yes, she beat out 4 & 5 year old boys to get it!) and got the high fives from the counselors!
Here are the girls with their friend, Sarah

Only Alexandra can make the long jump look fashionable!
Evanthea was surprised to get a ribbon just for participating!
Very proud of my girls! Evanthea won blue ribbons for the water relay, skipping race, and basketball. Alexandra won a blue ribbon for the water relay and decided she didn't want to compete much more!
Great job girls, we're very proud of you for participating! :)
