Penguin Plunge - New London Style!

New England weather is usually pretty temperamental...especially when you're trying to plan a big event...like watching over 300 people raise over $62k to jump into the freezing cold Long Island Sound.

What?

Yes, it's another Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics! This plunge was our third this season and we are always humbled to photograph such fun events. It's amazing how everyone gets together raises crazy amounts of money for a wonderful cause!

This plunge was at Ocean Beach Park...really weird for me coming back, as I haven't been to the park since I was 12! It was fantastic to see everything again and what was even more cool was seeing the dressing tents the National Guard donated! how cool is that?

Jackie organized this plunge....she always hangs out with characters...

"Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall..." seriously, wait until you see Alice! Fantastic costumes! First prize winners!
Despite not listening to directions, the plungers looked really cool from our standpoint!!
What a perspective, Jess! Yup, Jess went in (not by choice, and not because she raised the $$ -- she was so caught up in getting the shot...she ended up in the water!!)!!
Love the costumes everyone comes up with!
I thought he had such a strong profile

Jackie & the Penguin leading the plunge!

Tweedle Dee? Or Tweedle COLD?
Alice lost her shoe...
Congratulations to everyone who was crazy enough to jump in! Freezin for a Reason! :)
